About the Chamber
Sunnyvale Chamber of Commerce Committees Strategies
Becoming involved in the Chamber of Commerce is a great way to take advantage of your membership. There are three committees within the Chamber. Listed is each of their strategies. Take a few moments to review them and see which one would be right for you. Give us your time, and you will receive back a lot more.
Community Promotions Committee
- Recommend and assist in planning Chamber of Commerce events
- Serve as the advisory committee for the Murphy Awards
- Recommend educational and business presentations for Chamber of Commerce members
- Recommend marketing strategies to ensure the Chamber of Commerce welcomes new businesses coming to Sunnyvale
- Represents the Chamber of Commerce at community events
Public Policy
- Work to build strong alliances and good communications between local elected officials and the Chamber of Commerce
- Determine public policy issues that are appropriate for the Chamber of Commerce
- Evaluate and recommend Board of Director positions on key public policy issues
- Prepare information for Board of Director meetings on appropriate ballot measures
- Educate the membership on public legislation which directly impacts the Sunnyvale Chamber of Commerce members
- Poll the Chamber of Commerce membership on selected issues
Ambassador Committee
- The focus of the Ambassador Committee is to ensure that new Chamber members understand the benefits and tools the Chamber of Commerce has to offer
- Ambassadors will be assigned as advisers to new members
- Ambassadors will invite new members to Chamber events and introduce them to other members
- Ambassadors will interview new members after six months to assure their question are answered
- Ambassador will report back to the President/CEO with recommendations from new members
- Ambassadors will serve as official goodwill representatives of the Sunnyvale Chamber of Commerce at both Chamber of Commerce and community events
- Ambassadors require previous Chamber of Commerce experience and must be approved by the committee
